Fajã do Ouvidor Viewpoint overlooks one of the best-known fajãs on São Jorge's north coast. From the higher ground, visitors see the coastal platform, houses, fields and sea framed by the island's tall slopes. The fajã is lava-formed and is also known for its natural swimming pools, including Poça Simão Dias among the dark rocks beside the Atlantic.
The viewpoint has no formal visiting hours, but the road down to the fajã is winding and requires care. Use of the natural pools always depends on sea conditions and local guidance; heavy swell can make the shoreline dangerous. Visitors should park responsibly, avoid obstructing residents and respect private property. Clear conditions make it easier to appreciate the scale of the fajã and its position beneath the cliffs.
