Fajã das Almas Viewpoint provides an elevated perspective over this fajã on São Jorge's south coast. The view brings together the steep hillside, a small settlement beside the sea, cultivated plots and the Atlantic. It clearly illustrates how the island's fajãs occupy narrow coastal platforms below São Jorge's characteristic high slopes.
The panorama is most open in good visibility and can change quickly with cloud and rain. There are no formal visiting hours. Drivers should take care on steep local roads and avoid blocking entrances or working areas. Visitors should respect residents, private property and the quiet character of the place. At exposed points, remain back from edges and be cautious in strong wind or on wet surfaces. Clear light reveals the fajã's structure particularly well.
