Palácio da Conceição in Ponta Delgada is presenting an exhibition that looks at the route through which the Azores developed and established political autonomy. The programme marks 49 years of regional autonomy and is held at the Autonomy Centre.
Visitors are invited to consider the historical context behind the region’s system of self-government. Key episodes, people and institutional developments provide a framework for understanding this defining chapter in the contemporary history of the archipelago.
Based at Palácio da Conceição, the Autonomy Centre is the newest branch of the Carlos Machado Museum. The exhibition connects the public with the ideas and historical milestones that shaped the regional institutions of the Azores.
The venue is open from 4 to 8 September. Published visiting hours are 10:00–17:00 on 5 and 8 September, and 15:00–18:00 on 6 and 7 September.
