Degredo Beach

Degredo Beach is a small inlet on the south coast of São Miguel, in Vila Franca do Campo municipality near the Pedreira area. Its natural landscape includes a waterfall that reaches the coastal zone. Access is less direct than at urban beaches, and the shape and usable area of the shore can change with tides and ocean movement.

This is primarily a place for visitors seeking a quieter coastal landscape, not a beach with guaranteed services. Lifeguards, changing facilities, a bar or other permanent support should not be assumed. Wear suitable footwear on the approach and in wet areas, respect property and signs, and stay away from cliffs after rain or rough weather. Assess swell and currents conservatively before swimming; without a lifeguard or a clear indication of safe conditions, enjoying the scenery from land may be the responsible choice.
