Ribeira Funda Viewpoint is located in Cedros on Faial's north coast, set within a landscape shaped by the stream, dense vegetation and slopes descending towards the sea. Its most distinctive feature is Ribeira Funda waterfall, whose appearance changes throughout the year. It carries more water after rainy periods and may be much less visible during dry weather.
In addition to the viewing area, the site has parking and a picnic area with a barbecue, making a longer pause possible. There are no formal visiting hours, although daylight and clear conditions provide a safer and more rewarding visit. Care is advisable on damp surfaces and in windy weather. Anyone using the picnic area should check local fire restrictions and leave the space clean.
