Monte Carneiro Viewpoint

Monte Carneiro Viewpoint is located in Faial's interior, on a rise in Flamengos parish at approximately 287 metres above sea level. Its central position provides a broad perspective over the valley and the landforms surrounding this part of the island. Small settlements and agricultural areas are scattered across the view, including Santo Amaro, Calço das Figueiras, Courelas, Santa Bárbara, Dutras and Farrobo.

The main appeal is the wide panorama, which helps visitors understand the dispersed settlement pattern and green patchwork of inland Faial. The reach of the view varies with cloud cover, which is common on higher ground. Visitors should consider wind and access conditions before stopping. This is an open-air observation point with no formal visiting hours or permanently staffed services confirmed.
