Arquipélago Centro de Artes Contemporâneas in Ribeira Grande hosts the exhibition Sete Retratos e Outras Obras em Forma de Enlace from June 27 to November 8, 2026, as part of the complementary programme of Ponta Delgada 2026 - Portuguese Capital of Culture.
The exhibition presents works from the collection of the Museu Arpad Szenes - Vieira da Silva, bringing to São Miguel a visual arts selection connected with one of Portugal's key institutions for the study and preservation of the work of Maria Helena Vieira da Silva and Arpad Szenes.
As part of the PDL26 programme, the exhibition extends the cultural focus beyond Ponta Delgada to Ribeira Grande and strengthens the role of visual arts in the island's 2026 cultural calendar. Its setting at Arquipélago, a centre dedicated to contemporary creation, places the works in dialogue with local audiences, visitors and the Azorean arts community.
For residents, students, artists and travellers interested in museums and artistic heritage, the exhibition is a chance to encounter in the Azores works from a national collection more commonly associated with Lisbon. Its extended run through November makes it practical to include in cultural and travel plans across different parts of São Miguel's season.
