Raquel Dutra presents (re)cantos on 11 November 2026 at 6:30 pm in the Salão Nobre of Teatro Micaelense, Ponta Delgada. The concert draws on the Azorean traditional songbook and explores how its music can be interpreted today.
The performance is connected to Dutra’s recording project devoted to these songs. Readings and commentary between the pieces will provide musical, historical and ethnographic context.
Sidónio Bettencourt will moderate the session, with contributions from Carlos Sousa, Ana Paula Andrade and Luísa Bairos. Their participation adds perspectives to the performance and to the discussion of the islands’ cultural heritage.
Tickets for the auditorium cost €10 and are available through the ticketing service linked by Teatro Micaelense. For residents and visitors, the event offers a chance to hear Azorean traditional music alongside an account of its background.
