Pedro PMDS brings a work that connects listening, landscape and imagery to Calhetas. Laura Silva’s Memories takes place on 12 August at Experiência Quimera, offering a sensory journey designed for a forest setting on São Miguel.
Its sound component draws on recordings made across the islands and on the trail hosting the performance. The piece imagines the archipelago’s development, from its geological beginnings to a future in which nature and technology coexist.
Visual work by Sofia Caetano and Elliot Sheedy is projected directly onto the trees, making the vegetation part of the installation. Sound, light and the outdoor setting become interconnected elements of the artistic experience.
The session runs from 9:30 pm to 10:40 pm at EN1-1A 20, Calhetas. Tickets cost between €15 and €30, making it an outdoor cultural option for residents and visitors on São Miguel.
