Maré de Agosto returns to Santa Maria from 19 to 22 August 2026, opening with a sunset session at Miradouro da Macela before moving into three nights of concerts at Praia Formosa. The programme places the island within the Azores’ summer music calendar, bringing together artists from Portugal, the Azores and several international scenes.
The first event is scheduled for Wednesday, 19 August, on the Terra Stage at Miradouro da Macela, starting at 18:00. The sunset lineup includes We Sea, Manga Limão and Antoine C, using one of Santa Maria’s viewpoints as the setting for the start of the festival.
From Thursday to Saturday, the festival shifts to the Maré Stage at Praia Formosa. On 20 August, concerts run from 22:00 to 04:00 with Terrakota, Queen Omega & The Royal Souls and K:77. On Friday, 21 August, during the same time window, the announced acts are Oma Jali, Wüstenberg and OKO.
The final night, Saturday 22 August, is scheduled from 22:00 to 06:00 at Praia Formosa. That closing programme features Cais Sodré Funk Connection, Vitor Kley, Talco and A-Kids, bringing together Portuguese, Brazilian, Italian and Azorean acts for the last stretch of the festival.
The event is linked to A.C.M.A., based in Vila do Porto, and continues to use Praia Formosa as its main gathering point for residents and visitors. For Santa Maria, Maré de Agosto matters as more than a music festival: it supports summer travel to the island and creates demand for local accommodation, food services, transport and visitor activity during peak season.
