AngraJazz will hold its 26th edition in Angra do Heroísmo from 2 to 4 October 2026. The festival once again brings Portuguese and international musicians to Terceira, making the city a meeting point for jazz in the Azores.

The announced line-up includes Leïla Olivesi, Tyreek McDole, Aaron Parks, Walter Smith III and SF Jazz Collective. This edition also marks the centenary of the births of Miles Davis and John Coltrane, two defining figures in the development of jazz.

The festival opens on 2 October with the AngraJazz Orchestra, conducted by Pedro Moreira and joined by musicians from the Angra do Heroísmo Conservatory and the Hot Club Jazz School. Its planned repertoire revisits music connected to the collaboration between Miles Davis and Gil Evans, including Miles Ahead and Porgy and Bess.

Also on the opening night, the Centro Cultural e de Congressos de Angra do Heroísmo will host French pianist Leïla Olivesi’s octet and its African Rhapsody project. During the preceding week, the Jazz na Rua programme takes local and national bands to cafés and public spaces around Angra.

For residents and visitors, AngraJazz offers three days of concerts in the World Heritage city while extending music into the surrounding urban spaces. The mix of guest artists, local training and public-facing activity strengthens Terceira’s live-music calendar at the start of October.
