Azores Airlines sale moves to proposal stage in September
The SATA Group expects to receive proposals from prospective Azores Airlines buyers in September.
The direct-sale process for Azores Airlines is expected to reach a new stage in September, when interested parties are due to submit proposals for the airline.
The SATA Group has confirmed that its Board of Directors is in contact with prospective buyers. The expectation was set out by Tiago Santos, the group’s Chairman of the Board of Directors.
According to the information released, several proposals are expected at the beginning of September, bringing greater focus to the airline’s privatisation process.
Azores Airlines provides links between the archipelago and domestic and international markets, so the process is significant for residents, emigrants, visitors and businesses that rely on air connectivity.
The proposals will make it possible to assess concrete interest in acquiring the airline and determine the next steps in a process that could affect mobility and the Azores’ external connections.
