São Miguel prepares a more direct bus network for September
A new São Miguel bus operation is set to bring express services, online sales and a renewed fleet from September.
São Miguel is expected to begin a new passenger bus operation in September, with changes intended to make travel between municipalities simpler and faster.
The new model includes two intermunicipal express services alongside revised timetables. These routes are intended to provide a more direct option for regular journeys around the island.
The operation will also provide online ticket sales and daily passes, broadening access to the service for residents and for people visiting São Miguel for shorter stays.
Fleet renewal is also part of the announced change. For workers, students and other frequent passengers, the new network will matter through its combination of new connections, timetables and purchasing options.
