Air and sea deliveries help replenish essential supplies on Corvo
The Isabel C brought essential supplies to Corvo after weeks of shortages, following an Air Force flight that delivered three tonnes of goods.
Corvo received several tonnes of essential goods on 18 October with the arrival of the Isabel C. The delivery followed weeks of supply difficulties and an Air Force flight that had brought three tonnes of goods to the island the previous day.
According to RTP Açores, all the containers were unloaded at Porto da Casa. Maritime freight deliveries had been interrupted since late September, affecting the availability of essential goods for residents.
The two deliveries mark progress in replenishing supplies after weeks of shortages. The use of air transport, followed by a maritime delivery, highlights how supply connections underpin daily life on the smallest island in the Azores.
