December bids to shape choice of Azores Airlines’ future shareholder
SATA sets 9 December as the deadline for binding bids for Azores Airlines, with five candidates invited to the next stage of the privatisation process.
The selection of Azores Airlines’ future shareholder has a new milestone: 9 December 2026. SATA Holding has invited all five parties that submitted preliminary offers to make binding bids, according to RTP Açores.
The invitations follow the completed assessment of the non-binding offers. SATA Holding says its Board of Directors selected the participants for this stage after considering the assessment report and the opinion of the Independent Supervisor.
The sale is being conducted through private negotiation and covers a stake of at least 75% in SATA Internacional — Azores Airlines. Bidders must follow the tender specifications and the instructions set out in the process letter sent to the invited parties.
The identities of candidates progressing to the final stage will be disclosed when the binding bids are received. For the Azores, the process concerns the future ownership of an airline providing connections between the archipelago and domestic and international destinations, serving both residents and visitors.
