Azores Burning Summer 2026
Porto Formoso hosts a weekend of music, film and cultural activities on 28 and 29 August 2026.
When
August 28–29, 2026
Azores Burning Summer is scheduled for 28 and 29 August 2026 at Praia dos Moinhos in Porto Formoso. The north coast of São Miguel becomes the setting for two outdoor days shaped by music and cultural activity.
Friday, 28 August, is set to feature Paulo Flores, Lura and Tabanka Djaz. The following day brings Capitão Fausto, Zé Ibarra and Throes + The Shine to the Terra Nostra Stage.
Live sets form one part of a wider programme. VIVE, Cinema da Autonomia, Cinema na Praia, Letras n’Areia and Habitat add film, conversation, creative work and other cultural encounters to the weekend.
Visitors can choose between single-day admission and a two-day pass, with sales arranged in phases. The published age classification is 16+; younger attendees require a parent or an identified responsible adult, and children under six cannot enter.
Its beach location makes the event an opportunity to spend time in Porto Formoso as well as attend the programme. Those planning to go should check the organiser’s current ticket options and timetable before travelling to Ribeira Grande.
