Flores and Corvo will welcome information professionals on 17 and 18 September 2026 for a meeting focused on libraries, archives, museums and information services. BAD’s Azores Regional Delegation is bringing together people and organisations involved in documentation, reading, memory and public access to knowledge.

The programme begins at the Municipal Auditorium in Santa Cruz das Flores, where sessions will examine library ecosystems, archival identity and cultural management. Planned subjects include legal deposit, mediation in public libraries, the University of the Azores’ role in knowledge sharing, and the use of digital platforms to safeguard and make collections available.

The Flores afternoon turns to archives and museums. Speakers are scheduled to address Azorean heritage, documentary collections and cultural projects, before the opening of Raul Brandão’s The Unknown Islands exhibition at the Museum of Santa Cruz das Flores.

On the following day, the Multi-purpose Pavilion of the Corvo Ecomuseum will host presentations on reading practices, municipal archives and museum work. A visit to the island is on the agenda; if sea conditions prevent the crossing, the activities will take place on Flores instead.

Attendance is free with compulsory registration. Certificates issued to non-members cost 10 euros. The provisional programme also lists a cultural visit on Flores for 19 September.
